Media
relations
We
aim to identify the media that are important to your organisation
and then target them with appropriate information to create
coverage and build relationships.
Media
coverage for its own sake may be useful for funding bids and
for your files but we like to work on developing the relationships
that will enable you to communicate effectively with your
target audiences via the media that they hear, see and read.
The
first step is usually to develop a list of your priority media
and to research the individual journalists who may have an
interest in your story and the features and columns that are
already looking for items in your field. Your targets may
be as broad as a national list of food writers or as specific
as the journalist responsible for a particular feature in
a local newspaper - we aim to meet your objectives, not issue
as many press releases as possible.
