Marketing for Old School House at Orton
This is a slightly incestuous one as the Seed family owns Old School House in Orton, just near to home (and office).
Working for herself, Sally worked with a friend, Dorothy Lyons, to create a selection of sketch illustrations of the property and these were integrated into a simple leaflet. Another colleague, Neil Burnett, then worked on the website for the house, including photographs taken by Sally, and this was then connected and linked to a selection of online self-catering brochures, some general and a couple emphasising that the accommodation is suitable for dogs.
Most bookings now come online but small ads in WI newsletters in the Midlands and word of mouth have also been effective.
"Sometimes it's quite hard to step back from your own project and see it from a communications point of view and the marketing for the Old School House needs to be reviewed and refreshed regularly."
